Earrings with Onyx & Art Deco Diamond Elements, from Our Workshop

Black and white, brilliance and shadow, day and night: the contrasts that describe the exciting decade of Art Deco are still fascinating today. The late 1920s were characterized by social and economic tensions - but also by great new wealth, by pleasures such as the cinema, by all-changing developments such as the spread of the automobile. It is no wonder that a new fashion emerged at this time, which wanted to break with the status quo just as radically. Art Deco was international and modern in its elegant graphic forms. Especially in the early years of the new style, people loved monochrome colors, black and white, and the sparkle of diamonds. These earrings from our workshop are inspired by this era of contrasts and use original Art Deco elements as showpieces for the design. Delicate platinum elements, which once belonged to an antique brooch that came to us incomplete, are attached to a simple hoop made of high-carat gold. A total of 12 old-cut diamonds form the setting and together weigh around 2.30 ct. A ball of black onyx is attached to each of them. They complement the light metal color as a counterpoint and add a beautiful, sculptural element to the flat design of the upper parts. The result is a modern pair of earrings using antique elements and reminiscent of the glittering parties of the Roaring Twenties. The pair comes with a detailed appraisal from Vienna.
