Publisher's binding in wine-red percaline, smooth spine, gilt title, title repeated on the first cover, speckled edges. Map of Paris missing and one blank leaf missing, corners and capitals rubbed, spine slightly sunned, scratch on the upper board, warped cloth at the angle of the first cover, foxing on the plates. Original edition of this work centered on the author’s masterpiece, the Eiffel Tower, illustrated with a frontispiece, nine plates (including one showing the various viewpoints visible from the top of the tower) and a portrait of the author after Marzocchi. An annotated copy on the half-title page. Map of Paris missing.
