Luxardo's photographic work from the mid-1930s to the 1940s reflected the main orientations of early 20th-century photography, as evidenced in his nudes, which can be compared to those of Weston, Hoyningen-Huene and Man Ray. His portraits show the influence of fashion photographers from Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and of Hollywood cinema by George Hurrel.
