The drawing depicts an elegant standing female nude, built through a delicate interplay of light and shadow that models the body's volume with extraordinary economy of means. The composition evidences the artist's deep academic training and his admiration for French painting from the first half of the 20th century. The stylization of the neck, the serenity of the face, and the monumentality of the figure evoke the influence of Amedeo Modigliani, while the free handling of charcoal recalls the tradition of Henri Matisse and the School of Paris. Elmyr demonstrates in this work that, beyond his famous ability to recreate the style of other artists, he possessed a solid personality as a draftsman.
