Eratini - Vase - White fused glass with copper wire spiral • signed, original label • Greece • post-1990 - Glass A plate vase from fused glass with an ingot copper wire spiral, metal mesh and color shards, standing in the original bronze foot. Signed and with the original workshop label from Eratini of Naoussa. A plate vase by Eratini Artistic Glass, the fused glass studio of artist Efrosini in Naoussa, Northern Greece, founded in 1990. What distinguishes this piece: a spiral of copper wire and a net of black mesh are fused into the glass. The piece is hand-signed and still bears the original label. The background is white crackle glass with a fine network. On top lie a cloud of silver-grey metal powder, fragments in ruby red and amber, a pink copper foil and droplets in orange, turquoise and green. A turquoise glass rod runs diagonally across the whole. The plate rests in a small cast bronze foot block with a knobby upper rim, a fixed feature of this atelier. Condition: Very good. Glass: no chips, hairline cracks or restorations observed. Bubbles, small inclusions and the slightly irregular edge of the plate are production-related to fused glass and not damage. Label: present and legible up close. Bronze foot: natural patina. See the pictures. Offered as a decorative object. In interior: Fits in a contemporary, Mediterranean or eclectic interior, on a windowsill or sideboard. When held to light, the central hollow becomes translucent and the red and turquoise parts glow.
