Escuela Impresionista Europea (XX) - Bodegón de Pergaminos y Flores

Title: Still Life of Scrolls and Flowers School: European Impressionist (20th century) Style: Figurative Impressionist – Still Life Technique: Oil on canvas Circle and artistic influence: Work linked to the European tradition of 20th-century figurative still life, with influences from Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painting applied to the genre. The lighting treatment, visible brushwork, and the combination of flowers, books, and antique objects also retain a certain European academic still-life heritage, reinterpreted through a freer and more atmospheric execution. Composition of a still life developed on a dark, warm background. In the center, a blue vase stands out with a lush bouquet of flowers in reddish, orange, white, and violet tones, forming the main chromatic focus of the scene. On the table lie several elements of an intellectual and evocative character: an open book with aged pages, several closed volumes, a rolled parchment, and a pair of glasses. To the left appears a glass lamp in stylized shapes. The selection of these objects lends the composition a nostalgic character and can be related to the tradition of still lifes dedicated to knowledge, the passage of time, and memory. The lighting concentrates on the central objects, which emerge from a shadowy background through strong contrasts of light and dark. The brushwork presents a looser treatment, especially visible in the flowers, while books, glass, and parchment receive a more precise definition. The work is presented with a wide dark brown wooden frame, with a stepped profile and classical moldings. It includes a beige fabric-lined aquarter joint and a fine gold profile next to the painting. The ensemble provides visual depth and reinforces the traditional character of the still life. Observations The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will require photographs of the damage to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority. Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by surcharges due to reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excessive dimensions, or weight of the item. PremiArt will not be responsible for this surcharge. The courier that must cross the Swiss border can experience much longer delays than normal, so if possible, to speed up processing, we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so the client can unblock it and thus reach its destination. Experience has taught us that this is the most effective solution for both parties.
