Escuela Realista Europea (XX) - Flores y Manzanas - NO RESERVE

Title: Flowers and Apples School: European Realism, 20th century Style: Realism with Post-Impressionist influences Technique: Oil on canvas Circle and artistic influence: Work linked to the European tradition of the 20th-century floral still life. The composition reflects realistic influences in the recognizable depiction of the flowers and fruits, combined with certain Post-Impressionist resources, especially visible in the brushwork loaded with body, the chromatic intensity, and the expressive treatment of light. Vertical still life featuring an elegant vase in bluish-green tones, inside which is arranged a bouquet of roses in white, pink, and reddish hues. Around the container several apples are distributed on the surface, creating a visual balance between floral and fruit elements. The dark background, worked with ochres, browns and deep greens, concentrates the lighting on the flowers and the fruits. The brushstroke presents a loose and impastoed execution, especially marked in the petals, providing texture and volume to the whole. The work appears signed in the lower right corner. It is presented with a wide dark mahogany wooden frame, sober design and stepped profile. The frame shows signs of use, scuffs, scratches and small flaws due to the passage of time. Condition: It shows minor flaws and restorations. The overall state can be seen in detail in the photographs. Measurements: With frame: 81.5 × 69 cm. Without frame: 62 × 49 cm.
