Ethiopian Crystal Opal – an exceptional natural specimen...

This impressive Crystal-Opal natural specimen from Ethiopia captivates with its extraordinary transparency, the warm, gently honey-green to olive-colored base, and an especially vivid play-of-color. Within the transparent to translucent opal body unfolds a fascinating blaze of color in intense green, glowing blue, strong orange, yellow, and fiery red, which depending on the incidence of light and viewing angle reveals new color zones again and again. Particularly impressive are the large orange-red flashes of color in the lower and middle sections, threaded with intense green and individual electric blues, giving the piece extraordinary optical depth. The natural rough form with its characteristic irregular outer contour and the clearly preserved areas of the matrix or host rock emphasize the original character of this specimen. At the same time, selected areas have been carefully smoothed and polished, making the underlying opal structure especially apparent and causing the color play to seem to glow from inside the stone. Through the combination of transparent opal substance, natural matrix, pronounced depth effect, and an extraordinarily intense play of color, this is a highly decorative and characterful collectible for lovers of high-quality Welo and Crystal opals. A particularly fascinating natural piece that reveals its effect especially under targeted lighting and presents a different color play with every change of viewing angle – from rich neon green to turquoise and blue to spectacular fiery colors in orange, yellow, and red Stone: Crystal-Opal Weight: 120ct Size: 51,6x17x26,4mm Colour: Play of Color Treatment: None Origin: Ethiopia The pictures were taken with strong light and table lamps.
