Large fold-out map of 120 × 84 cm, cut into sections and mounted on canvas, with political boundaries highlighted in color and ornamental border. Thirteen city plans laid out sideways: Paris, London, Vienna, Saint Petersburg, Berlin, Warsaw, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Madrid, Lisbon, Rome, Naples and Constantinople, accompanied by topographic references and historical notes. Updated state with railways, dated 1854 in the upper margin. Copy belonging to Mr. Bousquet, lieutenant colonel of staff, bearing on the outer cloth panel a large manuscript calligraphic label with his name and rank. Interesting cartographic document from the early Second Empire, combining political geography, transportation routes, and urban topography. Paper unevenly browned, some stains and marginal wear; outer cloth soiled and rubbed. A fine decorative effect.
