European Flambe-Glazed Porcelain Vase, 19th Century

European porcelain vase dating from the 19th century. Of baluster form with a slender cylindrical neck and flared rim, the vase is finished in a rich deep oxblood (flambe) glaze, enhanced by black silhouetted landscape decoration depicting trees and figures. The lustrous glaze and dramatic tonal contrasts create a striking decorative effect, characteristic of late 19th-century artistic porcelain production. Devon Ware S.
