At the center of this ring is a striking 5.50 ct emerald. The stone, cut in the classic emerald cut, displays a vibrant, rich green and is held in place by four side prongs. It is a stone from Colombia, a country that has been producing the world’s most famous emeralds for centuries. Its characteristic green—resulting from small traces of chromium and vanadium—and its fine inclusions, known as the “jardin,” confirm its origin. The ring’s clean design naturally lets the large colored gem take center stage. It is crafted from high-karat yellow gold, whose warm hue creates a charming contrast to the emerald’s intense green. The sturdy ring band tapers toward the shoulders, where it is set with a total of twelve small brilliant-cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.12 ct combined. Their understated sparkle complements the emerald without competing for attention. Green has long been considered the colour of life, renewal, and hope. Over the centuries, similar meanings have also been attributed to the emerald. With its striking center stone and clean design, the ring is therefore equally suited as an extraordinary engagement ring or as a luxurious statement piece. An independent gemmological report confirms the quality of the materials used as well as the origin of the emerald from Colombia. It also indicates a moderate clarity enhancement achieved through oil treatment in the emerald, a practice that has been common for emeralds since ancient times.
