Facon Marrec - IMP. FORT LYON - J'ai mais MOI, une gaine Scandale - 1950s

Jean Facon-Marrec – "Scandale" Lingerie – Original French Advertising Poster – ca. 1950 Description An iconic and highly expressive postwar French advertising poster for the legendary corsetry and lingerie brand Scandale. This strong design features a stylized pin-up with raised arms, captured in a minimalist yet dynamic style. The poster is a textbook example of French mid-century commercial art, where the intense red background perfectly contrasts with the thick, hand-painted black brushstrokes. The legendary and bold slogan "mais MOI, j'ai une gaine Scandale" ("...but I wear a Scandale girdle") emphasizes French haute couture glamour and the confidence of the early 1950s. • Artist: Jean Facon-Marrec (1903–1994), signed in the upper right of the plate. Facon-Marrec was a key figure in postwar French poster art and designed decades of high-profile campaigns for major brands. • Printer: Imprimerie Fort, Lyon (printer credit in the lower left / lower right margin). • Period: Circa 1949–1955. • Technique: Lithographic print / High-quality color reproduction on paper. • Provenance: France.
