Bloodstone, also known as heliotrope, is a variety of chalcedony characterized by its deep green color with distinctive red spots or speckles. These red spots are often caused by the presence of iron oxide, which gives the stone its name, as the color evokes blood. Bloodstone has a glossy surface and can range from slightly translucent to opaque. The origin of bloodstone can be found in various parts of the world. Important deposits include India, Brazil, and the United States. This stone is often found in sedimentary deposits, where minerals have accumulated and been compacted over millions of years. Bloodstone is commonly used in jewelry, such as rings, pendants, and bracelets, but also in decorative objects and talismans. It is often associated with various spiritual and metaphysical properties, such as protection and healing. It is important not to confuse bloodstone with dragon blood stone, which is a different mineral combination and is usually characterized by a deep red color with green veining. Both stones have unique properties and uses, but they differ in composition and appearance. It will be sent by insured and registered mail.
