The first edition of Kenneth McNeil Wells's collection of poems, published in Paris by Edward W. Titus at the Sign of the Black Manikin in 1927. Titus's Paris imprint is noted for its finely produced literary publications, many issued in relatively small editions for the expatriate community. Wells's verse reflects the influence of late Symbolist poetry, with recurring themes of myth, mortality and ritual.
