The book is a classic detective novel about the sudden, suspicious death of Wilfred Cheriton, an engineering firm co-owner. Wilfred Cheriton and his cousin Clarence run the Cheriton Engineering Works. They have completely opposite personalities. Wilfred is a quiet, reclusive technical genius, while Clarence is sociable and handles the sales. Their opposing traits cause constant strain and tension within their business relationship. When Wilfred dies suddenly under suspicious circumstances, Inspector James Waghorn of New Scotland Yard steps in to investigate the family and business affairs. As is typical in this long-running mystery series, Waghorn solves the ingenious crime with the brilliant, enigmatic advice of the mastermind Dr. Lancelot Priestley, along with Sergeant King. Condition: The book is in Near Fine condition and appears unread. Clean covers and spine. Sharp cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. The pages are lightly toned and clean with no notable issues found. Small, light stain at the top edge of the text block. A very nice copy.
