Flavia Delgado - FISHING XL

FISHING is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado inspired by the visual force of old maritime posters and the vintage graphic aesthetic of the mid-20th century. The work depicts a fishing boat cutting through a storm under heavy diagonal rain and a dramatic sky in deep black. The composition conveys movement, resilience, and a cinematic sense of adventure on the high seas. Flavia Delgado blends influences from pop art, retro illustration, and classic industrial and nautical posters, using bold black lines, stark contrasts, and a reduced palette of intense colors. The visual treatment recalls old port advertisements and American editorial illustrations from the 1950s and 1960s. The vibrant red of the title and the base of the boat contrasts with the electric blues of the hull and the sea, creating an image with strong visual impact and graphic energy. The rain and dark sky add drama and turn the everyday fishing scene into an almost epic image. FISHING is a work that celebrates the spirit of the sea, the harshness of maritime work, and the visual beauty of industrial and oceanic landscapes, ideal for contemporary interiors, creative spaces, or collections inspired by the nautical and vintage universe.
