atural Fluorescent Hauynite Crystal – Badakhshan, Afghanistan – 154 g A remarkable Natural Hauynite Crystal from the Badakhshan Mines of Afghanistan, weighing 154 grams and measuring approximately 92 × 45 × 33 mm. This is an unusually large and attractive crystal with a beautiful natural green colour, strong lustre and distinctive irregular crystal structure. The crystal is self-standing, making it particularly suitable for mineral collectors and display. The upper portion of the crystal is translucent, while the central and lower areas are predominantly opaque. Several naturally occurring white lines and inclusions cross the upper part of the crystal, adding contrast and character to the specimen. One of its most attractive features is its fluorescence under UV light. Under UV illumination, the natural green colour changes to a bright yellow fluorescent appearance, as shown in the accompanying photographs.
