Extraordinary Toio Limited Edition Matte Black, produced by Flos in 2018 in a mere 2,500 pieces to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Achille Castiglioni, one of the most important figures in 20th-century Italian design. Originally designed in 1962 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Toio is one of Flos's most famous and recognizable projects. Its language stems from the Castiglioni brothers' idea of reinterpreting industrial elements and technical components, transforming them into everyday objects with a surprisingly elegant character. This 2018 Limited Edition in Matte Black brings that historic project in a particularly refined guise: the entire structure, the base, and the cord are finished in matte black, with an embossed powder-coated finish that gives the lamp a contemporary and austere look. The distinctive structure is composed of the base with integrated transformer, the adjustable hexagonal stem, and the metal reflector. The height can be adjusted from 158 to 195 cm, allowing the light to be directed and the lamp’s presence to be adapted to the room. A COLLECTIBLE PIECE This version is not a standard Toio production: it belongs to a limited run of only 2,500 pieces. Each lamp is individually numbered and comes with the original certificate of authenticity and the Limited Edition brochure. The edition’s authenticity is further identified through a double hologram system, present on both the lamp’s base and the certificate of authenticity. CONDITION New, never used and still in the original packaging. The lamp is offered complete with the exclusive Limited Edition packaging, the certificate of authenticity, and the original documentation. It also includes the customized PRO-PAR56 LED 23W GX16d bulb, 3000K, provided for this version.
