Fossil skeleton - Spinosaur Sail Vertebrae - Museum-Grade...

Why does it look real? Because it is real stone! Ossatorum Aeterna is a company specializing in the creation of ultra-realistic replicas of dinosaur skeletons and other extinct or endangered animals. Using an innovative mineral-coating technique, our creations achieve an authentic, museum-quality appearance. This unique approach was born from a simple observation: painted replicas often lack realism, while traditional casts, although more faithful, often limit fine anatomical detail. Our hybrid technique combines the best of both worlds—accurately capturing anatomical complexity while reproducing the mineral texture of natural fossils. The result is a level of realism rarely seen outside professional museum collections. Item for Sale: Replica Spinosaurus Vertebrae Overall Dimensions (with base): Length: 180 cm Height: 40 cm Depth: 22 cm Discover a museum-quality, ultra-realistic life-size (1:1) replica of a vertebra from Spinosaurus—designed to highlight the extraordinary scale this animal could reach, crafted for collectors, paleo-artists, and enthusiasts fascinated by giant theropods and extreme prehistoric adaptation. About Spinosaurus Spinosaurus was one of the largest known carnivorous dinosaurs, living during the Late Cretaceous period approximately 99–93 million years ago in what is now North Africa. Unlike most large theropods, Spinosaurus was uniquely adapted to a semi-aquatic lifestyle. Its elongated skull, conical teeth, and dense bone structure suggest a diet heavily based on fish and aquatic prey. Recent reconstructions indicate it spent significant time in water environments, making it one of the most unusual large predators ever discovered. Its vertebrae are among the most distinctive in the dinosaur world, contributing to its tall dorsal sail and overall massive body structure. These bones reflect an animal built for size, stability, and aquatic propulsion rather than terrestrial speed. This replica focuses on conveying the sheer scale of Spinosaurus—turning a single vertebra into a monumental object that communicates the true magnitude of this extraordinary predator. Key Features (Superior Craftsmanship) Weight and Stability With the base included, the piece weighs 1.5 kg. Its reinforced construction ensures stable display despite its extreme length, making it suitable for wall-mounted or extended horizontal presentation. Mineralized Hyper-Realistic Finish This piece has undergone a multi-step artisanal process, including a hand-applied mineral coating that replicates fossilized bone, sedimentary compression, and the dense textures of large Cretaceous vertebrae. Directional lighting enhances the elongated structure, revealing depth, ridges, and fossil-like stratification across the bone surface. Exceptional Detail Every anatomical feature is reproduced with precision, including neural spine structure, articulation surfaces, and the elongated proportions characteristic of Spinosaurus vertebrae. Museum-Grade Mounting The specimen is mounted on a reinforced professional support system fixed to a solid wooden base, designed to safely display its exceptional length while maintaining visual balance. Material Polymer coated with Ossatorum Aeterna’s hand-applied mineral finish, made from carefully selected natural stones finely ground to reproduce the coloration and texture of authentic fossil material. Scientific Accuracy Based on verified paleontological data and fossil specimens, this replica reflects the vertebral anatomy of Spinosaurus, emphasizing its extreme size and unique structural adaptations among theropods.
