Fr. 2210-L. 1928 Dark Green Seal $1000 Federal Reserve Note. San Francisco.

A Tantalizing "Gold Clause" $1000 Federal Reserve Note from the San Francisco District Fr. 2210-L. 1928 Dark Green Seal $1000 Federal Reserve Note. San Francisco. PMG About Uncirculated 53. Issued under a scarce series imprint seen sparingly in relation to subsequent iterations of this ever-popular denomination. This lightly circulated example from the San Francisco district offers a captivating presence that defies easy description. Here viewers are met with an exceptional degree of eye appeal brought to form by a veritable cornucopia of tantalizing engraved and overprinted design elements. From a Treasury overprint which evokes mental comparisons to the precious mineral malachite to the exceptional detail found throughout the engraved design among various denomination counters and panels along with the walrus-like portrait of Grover Cleveland, this is perhaps one of the best examples of this design that a collector could find at this grade level. In short, should one desire an example of this denomination that goes beyond a "generic" piece from Chicago or New York that offers the added desirability of the short-lived "Gold Clause," it would be foolish to overlook this exceptionally attractive specimen. Estimate: $5,000 - $7,000. Click here for certification details from PMG.
