Fr. 2300*. 1935A $1 Hawaii Emergency Star Note. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. Here for your consideration is a prohibitively rare Replacement issued amidst the potential threat of a Japanese invasion that ultimately never materialized. Now one would be wise to recognize that this is a rare note regardless of circumstance or the grade assigned. Even a well-circulated specimen will bring much more than any of its circulated counterparts (rare exceptions aside) and serves to help underscore the rarity of this item in numismatic terms. Spared from extensive circulation in the humidity of the South Pacific and eventual destruction by way of incineration, this example looks as if it had only just been cut from its constituent sheet over 80 years ago and offers a sight that will likely help carry this note into the confines of a collection of exceptional small size material. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000. Click here for certification details from PMG.
