Fr. 282. 1923 $5 Silver Certificate. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. Anchored by a rounded portrait of Abraham Lincoln which evokes comparisons to the iconic "gun barrel sequence" popularized by the James Bond film franchise during the 1960s. This design is nonetheless a mainstay of the numismatic pantheon and one where uncommon demand influences a strong price floor for even well-circulated examples. Here one may appreciate a crisp impression of the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" that encircle Lincoln's portrait while exceptional color and detail account for both the engraved and overprinted balance even before one looks to the grade assigned by PMG. Graded Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ by PMG, bidders are beholden here to a sight that seems utterly exceptional for the grade assigned and one that arguably reflects a higher grade level in visual terms which should effortlessly command a premium bid by the time bidding has ended. Estimate: $5,000 - $7,000. Click here for certification details from PMG.
