Gustave Eiffel - 100 years since his death €25 silver coin 2 Oz with NFC chip - BE quality, 2023 edition Silver 999‰ ~ Weight: 62.208 g Year 2023 Country France Edition: 1,923 boxed sets only Obverse Portrait of Gustave Eiffel in front of the arch of the tower bearing his name. The portrait has been worked so that facial features, hair and clothing are made of rivets, as if Gustave Eiffel himself merged with the metal structures he envisioned throughout his life. Reverse The reverse of the coin is occupied by representations of some of the architect's major works. In its center, the Eiffel Tower seen from above divides the drawing into several zones. In the space on the left, the Statue of Liberty reveals its framework in transparency. Above the summit of the tower, the Garabit viaduct is recognizable. On the right is depicted the plan of the airplane imagined by Gustave Eiffel, the LE. Finally, beneath the tower one finds the Maria Pia Bridge of Porto crossing the face value. Comments This coin features an NFC (Near-field communication) chip which, once scanned and without prior registration, allows a digital certificate authenticating the coin’s characteristics to appear. The choice is then left to the customer to register on the blockchain to attest ownership of this Coin. The NFC chip is located on the reverse of the coin, under a screen-printed resin with the drawing of the summit of the Eiffel Tower. The color used for this part of the drawing is drawn from engravings from the 1889 Universal Exposition, to approach the original color of the tower.
