Decorative French commemorative flag on the occasion of the 200th birthday of Napoleon Bonaparte, 1769–1969. A specially executed textile with a large image of Napoleon Bonaparte on horseback, surrounded by French imperial banners and military symbolism. At the top it clearly reads “NAPOLEON” and in the middle “BI-CENTENAIRE 1769–1969”. Below the central design is depicted the imperial eagle with crown, surrounded by a laurel wreath. The various banners show, among other things, imperial and military symbolism. It is a decorative and historically interesting piece from 1969, created for the occasion of the Napoleonic bicentennial. The fabric is light and somewhat translucent, making the image visible on the reverse side.
