Franklin Mint 1:32 - Model car - Mack Pumper Fire Truck (1948)

The Franklin Mint 1948 Mack Pumper Fire Truck is an iconic and highly detailed collector’s model among model car enthusiasts and, in particular, fire apparatus enthusiasts. This precision die-cast model is said to have been released in a impressively large scale of 1:32. This very detailed presentation model was authorized at the time by the Fireman’s Hall Museum and consists of more than 300 individual parts. It was issued around 1999. It comes on a wooden display with a brass nameplate. It is a handsome model of about 20 cm in length. Sold without original packaging. Original history: The 1948 Mack pumper is a classic vintage fire engine produced by Mack Trucks during the post-World War II era, often built on the popular L-series or Type 75/95 platforms. These vehicles were known for their robust construction quality and reliability at the firehouse. Features and Specifications: Powerful gasoline engine, often a six-cylinder inline engine (such as the Mack L-head or E-model variants). Pump capacity: Equipped with high-quality pumps such as a Hale centrifugal or rotary pump, with substantial output ranging from 500 to 750 (or occasionally up to 1000) gallons per minute (GPM). Water tank: Usually equipped with a tank with a capacity of around 500 gallons or external drafting options (soft suction) for open water. Equipment: Often outfitted with wooden ladder racks (such as a 24-foot extension ladder and a 14-foot rooftop ladder), hose beds for thousands of feet of hose, and characteristic options such as Federal Q-sirens. Many of these historical units have after their active service life found a second life in fire museums (such as the Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting) or are cherished and used by volunteer corps during parades and historic events. There may perhaps be small parts missing from this model. I could not detect them, but take a look at the many photos yourself. This is ultimately what is included. The original tag is still attached to the vehicle. It is likely still in near-new condition. Ultimately, it is a very impressive model of one of the most iconic fire engines from recent history. Truly a beauty and a feast for the eyes. And a model with a very good story. A real “conversation piece” indeed. An asset for any serious collection. Of course, all of this is well packaged and shipped insured/registered.
