Property from a Private Collection, New York City Description: French Aubusson Carpet, 19th Century, the central roundel with monogram and doves, surrounded by a floral border on a mauve ground. Provenance: purchased 'Rugs and Carpets' at Sotheby's 09 March, 1994, Sale 6537, lot 0117 for $24,380. Measurements: Length: 21 ft. 2 in. x Width: 10 ft. 10 in. Condition: Overall good condition; Bottom right quadrant with 6 x 6 in. patch and smaller 2 x 2 in. patch and a 1 in. hole, bottom edge with stitched seam on right and left side, wear and tears to edges, scattered stitched repairs throughout, several coin sized stitched repairs in cream boarder, water stain on maroon boarder, other stains throughout, in need of cleaning, some other small tears, fading, and discoloration.
