French School (XIX) - Château de Bourg-Archambault

Beautiful oil on canvas dated March 11, 1885, depicting the Château de Bourg-Archambault, in Vienne. The château is easily recognizable by its imposing entrance gatehouse, consisting of two powerful round towers surrounded by moats. The painter offers a close-up view highlighting the medieval architecture and the volumes of the fortified complex.
