G. Capelletti - Damn design

Sculptural interpretation of the famous Carlton bookcase, an icon of postmodern design designed by Ettore Sottsass for the Memphis Group. The work reinterprets its archetypal silhouette in the form of a unique model, subjected to a controlled combustion process and subsequently customized with painting and material interventions. The charred, fire-scarred surface enhances the architectural character of the composition, transforming a symbol of design into an autonomous sculptural presence. The pedestal, created as an integral part of the work, amplifies its plastic value and underscores its artistic dimension. Unique piece, ideal for collectors of radical design, contemporary art and Memphis culture.
