Gandhara Stucco Sculpture - 7 cm

This stucco Bodhisattva head comes from the Gandhara region, an ancient area located in present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan, dating probably from the 3rd to the 5th century CE. Gandharan art is known for its unique fusion of Greco-Roman and Buddhist influences, creating a distinctive style characterized by naturalistic realism. Bodhisattva sculptures like this were important objects of veneration in the Buddhist monasteries of the region and make it a significant example of Buddhist art from that period. Nose restoration carried out.
