The Jewels of Sand – Perfect Symmetry in Giant Format Expand your collection with a fascinating master piece of marine evolution: For sale is a perfectly flawless Umbonium giganteum (giant knob snail) in museum-grade GEM quality. With an impressive diameter of 35 mm, this specimen breaks the typical size boundaries of its genus and represents a rare GIANT SIZE. While most button and wheel snails are tiny beach jewels of a few millimeters, this species is a true giant. A shiny work of art from the Far East The genus Umbonium is famous for its lens-shaped, flat-conical shell architecture and its extreme, mirror-like natural gloss. The underside features a massive, smooth callus that gives the shell the feel and look of a polished gemstone. Because these snails live in the sand of tidal and surf zones, most shells show fine hairline cracks, beach wear, or matte patches. A specimen this large in such pristine, undamaged condition with flawless deep luster is an absolute stroke of luck for any high-end display collection or a modern Wunderkammer. Details at a glance: Scientific name: Umbonium giganteum (Lessona, 1889) Size: 35 mm diameter (exceptional monster size for this family) Quality: Exceptional GEM (flawless, perfect porcelain gloss, undamaged rim) Origin: West Pacific / East Asian seas Notes / varieties: Umbonium giganteum
