His career as a photojournalist fits in perfectly with the explosion of the rock scene and he masterfully documented this golden age of music history - and photographed many of the greatest icons of the time. Gijsbert strived to capture images that revealed the man behind the musician. Trying to express a deeper truth about his subjects resulted in portraits that are natural and intimate, relaxed and sincere. And in dazzling concert photos. The photographer is represented by galleries in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Madrid, London, Bologna, Munich, Belgrado and Schiedam, Netherlands.
