Gilded pyrite aesthetic with sphalerite

From our selection of collectible minerals, we present a splendid group of Pyrite crystals with Blende (Sphalerite) from the Island of Elba. Moreover, it is characterized by pyrite crystals with pentagonal-dodecahedral form and brilliant golden color, in association with small gray blende inclusions, with a beautiful aesthetic effect given by the chromatic contrast, which enhances its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that enhance its natural structure and visual impact. Pyrite (FeS2) owes its name to the Greek 'pyr', fire, because struck it sparks; the pentagonal-dodecahedral habit, as in this specimen, is one of the most sought-after habits by collectors. The Island of Elba is historically famous for its iron mineralizations, related to contacts between granitic intrusions and host rocks, which produced for centuries pyrite and other sulfides of notable aesthetic quality. Blende (ZnS), present here as an accessory mineral, is the main zinc mineral and is often found associated with iron sulfides in this type of deposits. This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, even within the realm of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with very rare exceptions always stated in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in shade may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
