Ginger jar - Porcelain - Famille Rose Ginger Pot

Large Chinese Famille Rose Ginger Jar with Lid - 20th Century - Qianlong Mark 22 cm tall x 22 cm wide Chinese Famille Rose ginger jar (Ginger Jar) with lid. This imposing porcelain piece is a real eye-catcher for any interior! The jar is richly hand-painted all around in the iconic pink and the colorful Famille Rose palette. There are four gorgeous cartouches (windows) showing traditional Chinese symbols of happiness and harmony: • Two quarrelling or swimming mandarin ducks among lotus flowers (symbol for marital fidelity and love). • A majestic peacock/phoenix with lush peonies (symbol of wealth and prosperity). • A cheerful green parrot on a blooming branch. The shoulders and the lid are elegantly finished with the classic yellow and blue Ruyi border (the traditional wish-fulfiller). At the bottom, the jar bears a red square seal with the apocryphal Qianlong mark (乾隆年製). This is a high-quality vintage decorative piece from the 20th century (Republican period or later), crafted in the style of the great imperial masterworks. Condition: The jar is in excellent vintage condition. No cracks, chips, or restorations. The colors are still beautifully bright and fresh. (See photos for a good personal impression).
