Giovanni Omiccioli (1901-1975) - Falegname in bottega

*GIOVANNI OMICCIOLI (Rome 1901 - 1978) - "Artigiano in bottega" - 1946* *Descrizione opera:* Beautiful original ink drawing on laid paper, depicting a carpenter seated in his workshop, caught in a moment of pause from work. The artist describes with a few essential and nervous lines the working environment: behind the figure you can recognise the tools of the trade - the saw hanging, the workbench, the square, the wrench. A work of great humanity and immediacy, typical of Omiccioli's postwar production, when the artist wandered the popular workshops of Trastevere and Testaccio to portray the world of work. *Scheda tecnica:* - *Autore:* Giovanni Omiccioli (1901-1978) - Scuola Romana - *Titolo:* Artigiano / Falegname in bottega - *Tecnica:* Inchiostro di china su carta - *Firma:* Signed and dated bottom right - *Condizioni:* Good state of preservation, slight yellowing of the paper due to age, perfectly consistent with the period. No tears. *Storia e Stile:* Belongs to the period of Roman Expressionist Realism, the most sought after by Omiccioli collectors. Quick, concise stroke, of great expressive force. Work published in the style of drawings exhibited at La Margherita Gallery in Rome in the 1950s. Ideal for a collection of 20th-century Roman art, Roman School
