Brochure, octavo format, 54 pages, pale green cover printed, original binding. Cover dusty and browned at the margins, small peripheral tears, paper slightly yellowed, some foxing. Discourse presented to the Academy of Sciences, Belles-Lettres and Arts of Rouen by Albert Giraud, physician-director of the Saint-Yon asylum, received December 10, 1896. The text also appears in the Academy’s Precis for 1895-1896. Study devoted to the repression of witchcraft in Normandy, notably the positions of the Parliament and the documents of 1670. An interesting intersection of judicial history, beliefs, and a medical view of superstition.
