GIRONDE. 1791. SOCIÉTÉ PATRIOTIQUE DE SAINTE-FOY-LA-GRANDE. Letter signed by the Friends of the Constitution of SAINTE-FOY, addressed to the Société des Amis de la Constitution seant à RENNES (Ille-et-Vilaine). Sainte-Foy, December 11, 1791, Year 3 of Liberty. Vignette "Les Amis de la Constitution de Sainte-Foy. Live free or die". 1 page (30 x 20 cm): "It is very painful for true Friends of the Constitution to see that a Society as commendable as yours, by the energy of its Civism, has forgotten itself to the point of receiving in its bosom, Mr le Chapellier. This is an unforgivable error, and we hope that you will soon come to your senses, but in the meantime our Society has felt it its duty and delicacy to suspend all correspondence with you, until you have expelled a man who at first wanted to play the patriot, and who has ended up disgracing himself in the eyes of the whole of Europe. We are cordially yours, brothers and friends."
