Glamorous Vintage Cocktail Ring With Sapphire & Diamonds, 1960s

The jewellery fashion of the late 1960s and 1970s was colourful and expressive. This vintage ring from the years around 1970 is therefore a spectacular sight. Still designed in the tradition of late Art Deco cocktail rings, it reinterprets this glamorous type of jewellery according to the taste of the time. Forged from warm rose gold, the ring presents an unusual, towering ring face. The ring band and the lower half of the ring face show an interesting surface texture due to a strong martellation, which is a characteristic feature of the time. The transverse showpiece is then curved inward, creating a drama of its own. One large natural sapphire is impressively staged here on a bed of glittering diamonds. The oval faceted gemstone has a weight of 4.56 carats, while the diamonds weigh in at 1.23 carats. The ring, which found its way to us here in Berlin, is very well preserved and a stunning eye-catcher on the hand. We have had an independent appraisal done by the German Association for Gemstone Evaluation Idar-Oberstein, which confirms the quality of the materials used.
