Glashütte Thüringen: Krampus (Duivel) - Christmas baubles - Glass

Krampus made of glass, very difficult to photograph due to the reflection. It was made in the period 1950-1960 by Glashütte Thüringen. The Krampus is 15 cm tall. Krampus is the companion of Saint Nicholas and his servant. In the Netherlands it is often indicated as a devil, but that is not actually what he is. Krampus is very well known in southern Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Northern Italy. It is a very beautiful ornament. The photos do not do it justice. Red in color and fairly shaped.
