Gufram - Armchair - Textile

Rare two-seater Gufram armchairs coming from the Auditorium della Conciliazione in Rome, the historic hall located on Via della Conciliazione, in the monumental heart of the city, along the axis linking Castel Sant’Angelo to St. Peter’s Square. The chairs come from an important batch of seating originally installed in the Auditorium. They are offered in their two-seat configuration, with folding seats, red fabric upholstery, metal frame, and side and rear wooden elements. The Gufram brand is present on the original seat mechanism. The provenance is one of the most interesting elements of these pieces: the Auditorium della Conciliazione is a historic Roman venue dedicated to performances, concerts, ceremonies and international events, located on Via della Conciliazione, just a short walk from the Vatican City. Historical/documentary photographs of the chairs installed inside the Auditorium before their removal are available to support the provenance. The specific model and the designer are not indicated, as, at present, there is not enough certain documentation to attribute them. General condition: good, with normal signs of time and use; light marks on the structure and minimal signs on the upholstery visible in the photographs. Structurally solid and ready to use. This pair comes from a larger lot of seats from the same original set, sold separately: the photographs represent the model, configuration, and general condition of the lot. Each pair nevertheless retains the same overall characteristics, provenance and configuration illustrated in the listing. Overall dimensions of the two-seat module: Height 85 cm Width 105 cm Depth with seats closed 40 cm Seat height 45 cm Weight 36 kg Shipping: Shipping is carried out with the structure disassembled to optimize transport costs. Reassembly is done using the original hardware, without the need for structural modifications.
