Gustave Flaubert - [Jean de Bonnot] L'Éducation...

Two-volume set from the Art Editions Jean de Bonnot, bringing together Gustave Flaubert’s L’Éducation sentimentale and an Address Book illustrated in homage to J.J. Grandville. The Flaubert volume is a special “exemplaire de tête” edition, published in 1981, in a richly decorated full black morocco binding, with laid paper and illustrations by Léonard. The Address Book, published in 2013, comes from a special edition limited to 2,000 copies; this one bears the no. 218/2000 and has remained entirely unused, never filled. An interesting set for a collector of Jean de Bonnot bindings, uniting a head edition and a numeroted limited edition. Both volumes are in good overall condition according to the photographs. There is a nominative ex-libris in the Flaubert; the case binding of the Address Book shows some handling marks and corner wear.
