Hala Zeist - H.Th.J.A. Busquet - Table lamp - 1930s Model 144 - H50cm - Metal

Hala Zeist Model 144 Desk Lamp by H. Th. J. A. Busquet – Dutch Art Deco/ industrial, ca. 1930s In excellent condition – No reserve. A highly distinctive and collectible Hala Zeist Model 144 desk lamp, designed by the renowned Dutch designer H. Th. J. A. Busquet and dating from the 1930s. This elegant lamp features the characteristic large domed shade, curved tubular arm and substantial circular base. Its streamlined geometry and functional construction are excellent examples of early Dutch modernist lighting design, bridging the late Art Deco period and the emerging functionalist aesthetic. The original lacquered finish was unfortunately in very poor condition. Rather than leaving the lamp with a deteriorated surface, it has been professionally polished by hand and subsequently treated with wax, giving the metalwork a clean, attractive and highly presentable appearance while retaining the character of the vintage piece. Some minor traces of age remain, consistent with its history and age. A particularly attractive example for collectors of Hala Zeist, Dutch design and early 20th-century lighting. A substantial and highly decorative desk lamp that makes a real eye-catcher on a desk, side table or console. Details / Specifications Manufacturer: Hala Zeist, Netherlands Designer: H. Th. J. A.
