Article: Decorative sculpture set Theme: Shichifukujin – Seven Lucky Gods Quantity: 7 figures Material: Hand-carved wood Technique: Handcrafted sculpture Per figure dimensions: approx. 13x9x7 cm Origin: Asia (likely Japan) Manufacturing period: Second half of the 20th century Style: Japanese folk art / Okimono Interesting set composed of seven wooden sculptures representing the Shichifukujin, known as the Seven Gods of Fortune in Japanese folklore. Each figure features characteristic attributes related to prosperity, wisdom, and longevity. Among them one can recognize characters with traditional symbols such as the lucky fish, wise men's staffs, bags of wealth, or smiling figures associated with happiness. The pieces are hand-carved in solid wood, with rich detail in the outfits, beards, and facial expressions. The natural texture of the wood and organic cavities are part of the sculptural character of each figure. This type of sculpture is known in Japan as okimono, decorative pieces inspired by Japanese popular tradition and highly valued by collectors of Oriental art. The set is kept in generally good condition with normal signs of aging and use. The photos are part of the description. Shipping: Insurance against incidents is arranged.
