Rare and impressive pair of antique French opaline glass pouring jugs vases, produced in the late 19th century (ca. 1880–1900). This imposing pair (34 cm high) is done in a moody pastel green opaline glass with a dark green foot and matching handle. The vases are hand-blown, as visible by the authentic rough pontil marks on the bottom. Details & Décor: Galant tableaux: Both vases are centrally decorated with a refined cartouche medallion featuring a romantic scene of a high-society couple in 18th-century dress (Fragonard-style). The two tableaux complete each other narratively as a true mirror-image pendant pair. Hand-painted enamel: The clothing and details are enriched with tangible, enamelled accents (such as white lace collars and relief details). Rich ornamentation: Around the medallion are graceful scrolls, floral motifs, and botanical accents in warm orange, purple, and green tones. Workshop mark: On the underside is the handwritten number "2.", the original workshop and set number indicating that both pieces were made together as a pair.
