Harbeth - HL-P3ES-2 Speaker set

The Harbeth HL-P3ES-2 are historic passive, stand-mounted hi-fi loudspeakers (mini-monitor), considered the direct spiritual and technological descendants of the legendary BBC LS3/5a monitors. Produced in the mid-2000s, they embody the Harbeth maker’s philosophy of a natural-sounding voice, optimizing performance in cabinets of extremely compact size (roughly the size of a shoebox). Technical Main Specifications System type: 2-way speaker in a sealed enclosure (pneumatic suspension). Driver: 110 mm (4.33 in) mid-woofer with a custom polymer cone. Tweeter: 19 mm (0.75 in) with aluminum dome, ferrofluid-cooled and magnetically shielded. Frequency response: 75 Hz – 20 kHz (±3 dB in free space). Nominal impedance: 6 Ohm. Sensitivity: 83 dB / 1W / 1m (relatively low load, a good amplifier is required). Recommended amplification: From 25W to 120W. Dimensions (H x W x D): 305 x 188 x 198 mm. Weight: About 5.9 kg each. Sound Features and Strengths Midrange Magic: As is traditional with Harbeth, the reproduction of voices, acoustic instruments, and midrange details is exceptional, transparent, and free of artificial coloration. Three-Dimensional Stereo Image: Thanks to the narrow front and the well-damped sealed cabinet (SuperTunedStructure technology), the speakers virtually "disappear" in the room, creating a wide, stable, and deep stage. Bass Handling: Despite the cabinet’s physical limits (deep bass below 70–75 Hz is attenuated), articulation and speed of the mid-bass range are exemplary. There is no artificial “boomy” bass effect typical of many other mini-wooden speakers. Ideal for Small Spaces: They excel in near-field configurations (close listening), small offices, apartments, or bedrooms, placed on sturdy stands at ear height. Additionally, they have their own iron structure, clearly visible in the high photo, 69 cm tall. Given the substantial weight of the iron structure, shipping is not offered. Private arrangements can be made for shipment of the cabinets only, without the iron structure. The condition is excellent, with no scratches, marks, or breaks. They are like new.
