HELLENISTIC GOLD RING WITH ROSETTE

Ca. 300 - 100 BC. A gold ring with a flat-section hoop supporting a large multi-tiered rosette. The flower is composed of concentric rows of convex petals, each outlined with twisted wire, with smaller petals gathered around a central gold pellet. Size: D:17.32mm / US: 7 / UK: N 1/2; Weight: 2g Provenance: Private London collection; previously acquired from a Belgian collection (1980s-1990s).
