The maker is Henri Désiré Grisard, born in Paris, France, in the year 1872. A splendid as well as uniquely large statue/bust featuring the Gallic priestess/seeress 'Vélleda'. Her likeness with the helm, feathers and ermine fur gives her a romantic and historical appearance. This beautiful terracotta bust is of exceptional beauty—and because of its fragility will be shipped very carefully packed with an insured value equal to the purchase. Also, in the other auction, the fine pedestal as seen in the photo is being auctioned as well, likewise a unique specimen. Originating from our castle in Ribérac, France.
