Henri Matisse (1869-1954) – Nu Bleu II Serigraphy on Arches vélin paper with ragged edges, size 65 x 50 cm. Proof in three color passes, enhanced by the use of graphite. Signed and dated in the plate, hand-numbered HC ../50 at the bottom right Dry stamp of the publisher's authenticity at the bottom left. Edition of Brugière, limited to 50 Hors Commerce copies, after the work of Henri Matisse. From an artisanal workshop, this impression is pulled according to traditional methods, where each color is applied by hand, pass after pass. This deliberately slow rhythm, far from industrial productions, guarantees a high standard of execution and a richness of texture that can be perceived immediately. This work reprises one of the most iconic compositions by Henri Matisse, where the apparent simplicity of the motif reveals an absolute mastery of form and color.
