Hergé designed Toooot in 1980 as a wink to Studio Editions, which had just reissued in traditional lithography the finest Art Deco posters, including René Vincent's Bugatti and Cassandre's Normandie liner. Hergé, sentimental, recalled René Vincent's drawings that had guided his early steps in advertising graphics, but also Tintin who boards the Normandie to return from America.
