Holy water font - 1850-1900 - Wall-mounted - 33 cm

Wall-mounted crucifix holder in solid wood finely hand-carved - 19th century Splendid 19th-century wall crucifix holder, entirely made of solid wood and finely hand-carved, a refined example of nineteenth-century sacred craftsmanship, distinguished by extraordinary ornamental richness and an elegant Baroque-inspired composition. The structure, skillfully worked with fretwork, develops around a central Latin cross, adorned with an elaborate interweaving of volutes, acanthus leaves and botanical motifs. The depth of the carvings, the precision of the details and the harmonious alternation of positive and negative spaces testify to careful artisanal execution, giving the piece movement, balance and notable visual lightness. At the bottom is the characteristic basin for holy water, integrated into the wooden structure and frontally decorated with the letters “SA,” an element that adds further interest and peculiarity to the artifact. Of great charm is the warm brown tone, enhanced by a beautiful antique patina, which highlights the natural grain of the wood and the refinement of the workmanship. The harmonious proportions and the elaborate decoration render this holy water font a piece with notable presence, expression of the artistic and devotional traditions of the 1800s. A complement of great personality, ideal for enriching historic homes, classic interiors, private studies and sacred art collections. Particularly striking on light walls, where the chromatic contrast enhances the depth of the carvings and the perforated silhouette. It also lends itself magnificently to contemporary and eclectic environments, where it can become a refined focal point, capable of introducing an element of history, spirituality and artistic refinement. Features Era: 19th century. Material: solid wood. Workmanship: entirely hand-carved, with rich fretwork decoration. Dimensions: height 33 cm, width 19.5 cm, depth 7 cm. The holy water font is in good overall condition, with natural signs of aging and use, consistent with the period. The pleasant antique patina and the quality of the carving contribute to the overall charm of the object. Interested parties are invited to study the photographs carefully, which are an integral part of the description and faithfully document the conservation status. The object will be carefully packed by Ankerior, a company specialized in art logistics, with certified professional training from Palazzo Spinelli in Florence in packing, handling, transportation and logistics of artworks and cultural assets. An enchanting testimony of nineteenth-century sacred art, in which the beauty of solid mahogany, the mastery of the carving and the elegance of the composition blend into a artifact of undeniable decorative and collectible charm.
