The cover follows the classic iconography of Tenderness (Eleusa), showing the veil and sacred vestments finely decorated, with the main opening for the paired faces of the Madonna and the Child Jesus. In the composition, the hands joined in an embrace with the rosary/prayer crown and the cross are also distinguished. The artistic workmanship is of notable quality: the surface is framed by a rich peripheral border with volutes and foliate motifs in a Baroque taste, while the background features a delicate hammered finish that reflects the light, enhancing the chased/cast shapes.
